The creep towards the Communist State
The recent nationalisation of various banks should concern us for several reasons not least because the creep of socialism into every aspect of our daily lives has become almost unstoppable and because the inceasing burden of bureaucracy and the utter incompetence of those who are drawn to the parasitic jobs it creates will destroy all enterprise and strangle all wealth creating and wealth distribution as surely as the Soviet system did in the 90 odd years it was in force in the USSR.
The second is the passage below -
"Owners of capital will stimulate the working class to buy more
and more of expensive goods, houses and technology, pushing
them to take more and more expensive credits, until their debt
becomes unbearable. The unpaid debt will lead to bankruptcy of
banks, which will have to be nationalised, and the State will
have to take the road which will eventually lead to communism"
Karl Marx, Das Kapital, 1867

Marx wasn't as stuipd as people in the west like to think. His books were banned in the U.S. for awhile I think so that the american people won't notice that the goverenment was doing was communism. The Bank of America just got another 20 billion to cover thier losses. I think it would be cheaper for the goverenment just to pay off everyone's mortgage. This whole thing just makes me sick.

That Marx quote is a HOAX. It has been repeatedly debunked on the web. Marx never said anything close to that in Capital, or anywhere else. Tip off - there was no such thing as consumer "technology" in 1867. The scenario imagined in this quote has nothing to do with Marx's thoughts on the transition from capitalism to socialism, it is a fabricated quote designed to scare people.

Actually, I have found that he did say something very like this in Das Kapital, so though the version here may be "modernised" it isn't far off. And Socialism is merely a milder form of Communism ....

Can you produce a reference? That supposed Marx quote is a hoax that has been repeatedly debunked. See:

Even the John Birch Society admits it is a fraud:

Well, that put that discussion to rest. Well done, Anthony.
