Greenpeace's "Green energy" Plan exposed as a sham
This article by a Professor of Physics is a must read for all those who might still believe that Greenpeace is a sane and sensible organisation with the planets interests at heart. Entitled "Without the hot air" it makes very interesting reading. My thanks go to the Gorse Fox for bringing it to my attention.
In summary, the professor has calculated what would be needed in terms of wind turbines, sea barrages and other "renewable" energy sources such as solar panels and found that even if we covered our island home in windfarms, ringed it with barrages to trap the tides and covered everything else in solar panels - we'd still have to buy energy (probably generated by nuclear) from someone else. Assuming of course that there was anyone still able to live here with all the turbines.
Just proves to me that Greenpeace is nothing but a bunch of charlatans, eco-terrorists and pseudo-scientists who like to trot out the scare stories regularly to keep the gullible entertained.

I think this is quite reasonable:

The energy report Greenpeace created with energy experts and scientists was very good too - especially if you like numbers. http://www.greenpeace.org/international/campaigns/climate-change
Where is the scare mongering in that? Organisations like Greenpeace are only working to fix the problems climate scientists are bringing to the world's attention.

It's only reasonable if you subscribe to the myth of "Human Caused Climate Change". also only reasonable if you are prepared to step back to a mythical pre-industrial age existence for all of humanity. The real problem here is that the climate is changing due to a natural cycle and we are contributing to that by overpopulation. How do you reduce that? Get rid of modern medicine - pollution from waste, and emmissions in production that will rid us of a large part of the population dependent on the drugs they produce.
Get rid of Greenpeace and a few other "Green" organisations that constantly block any forward movement which would help reduce the impact of the changing climate or who constantly spread myths for the gullible - such as planting small low voltage wind turbines on factories suggesting that these could power the plant. That will help too!
Greenpeace lost all credibility for me when they tried to promote figures for the Brentspar that suggested there were several thousand tons of oil still on board (It was less than 500 tons of oil sludge in reality) and that it had been stuffed with nuclear waste. The only radiation sources on board were granite particles and other naturally radioactive materials in the sludge. Since then they have further compounded my disbelief in everything they publish because it is twisting scientific facts and ignoring any data which isn't in accord with their "gospel".
Of yes, and their promotion of anti-nuclear garbage .... Nuclear reactors are not the same as nuclear bombs and never have been. Chernobyl awas NOT a "nuclear explosion" it was a steam burst and fire involving nuclear material. And it was made worse by inappropriate actions taken to contain it. For the record reactors of that type are almost all shut down and dismantled and haven't been built for some time now. Modern reactors have smaller fissile cores (Less nuclear material), are safer and what is more the fuel rods are generally better than 95% recyclable.
Even better, no "waste" heat and no carbon emmissions!
